The Cloven Stone on Mugrisdale Common, Cumbria. 22 June 2005

After a very misty climb up to Mugrisdale Common with Jeff we found the Cloven Stone.
Perhaps we should have taken more notice of A.Wainwrights comments when he said
Mungridale Common's natural attractions are "of a type that appeals only to sheep"
and it "has no more pretension to elegance than a pudding that has been sat on"

Later in the day the weather improved and so did AW's comments. Below is Trusmadore,
AW said "Nobody ever sung the praises of Trusmadore, and it's time someone did."
