First pictures of 2006
As with last year I decided to bring in the new year with a trip to the summit of a local mountain. I chose a different mountain this year (05/06) an headed up on to the moors from White Coppice, Chorley, Lancs. UK. towards Great Hill, where I pitched my tent for the night.

Approaching the ruins of Drinkwaters the low afternood sun lit the moors with a wonderful warm light.

I pitched my tent on the very windswept summit of Great Hill (378m) Sat 31st Dec 2005

All through the night it was very misty but by first light the mist blew away and revealed Darwen Tower and the lights of the town behind it. (Sun 1st Jan 2006)

The TV masts on Winter Hill appeared through the mist in the morning light.
