The weather was dry as I packed my tent away but the forecast
said rain was on the way for about 11am. I continued cycling
south along the track by the River Leven until I reached the
Dumbarton where I crossed the river at Bridge Street. The route
weaved through the town and under Dumbarton Central Railway
Station. |

Further east the route followed the route of the abandoned
Glasgow, Dumbarton and Helensburgh Railway Line. It continued
over the Forth and Clyde Canal and it then joined the canal
towpath. I reached the Clydebank Shopping Centre at Three Queens
Square. It's an interesting area with the canal through the
shopping area. |

I left the canal for a while to follow the road and back to the
old rail line. After crossing Dyke Road in the area of
Blawarthill I came to some interesting tall structures by the
cycle track. They were Dove towers and I think I counted three
as I cycled along. I reached South Street, the Clydeside
Expressway to cross the River Kelvin then along cycleways to
reach the Clyde. |

I crossed at the impressive Tradeston Footbridge to the south
side of the river then back over via the George V Bridge to Hope
Street and Glasgow Central Station. I hadn’t been there very
long before the rain arrived. I waited for the 14:34 to take me
back to Preston where I cycled home via the old Tramway to
Bamber Bridge then A6 home.
